We accelerate a just transition to a
circular economy.
Our Mission
Circular Triangle aims to raise awareness about the waste hierarchy and promote circular alternatives, particularly in textiles. We foster education and advocacy on the intersection of municipal systems and circular economy principles, while providing a connection hub to support organizations dedicated to these sustainable solutions.
What is a circular economy?
Circular economy isn’t just a new buzzword for recycling; it’s a total paradigm shift. As a society, we are using more natural resources than our planet can regenerate. “Sustainable” solutions often don’t solve this problem. A circular economy means we reduce, reuse, and regenerate resources so that humans and nature thrive.
Why it matters
Carbon-neutral cities
Climate action policies that include embodied and consumption-based carbon more completely address a city’s climate impacts because they address some of the biggest sources of emissions — how we make and use buildings, products, and food.
Healthy cities
Air, water, and soil pollution lead to poor health outcomes, especially for poor and low-income communities. Designing pollution out of the urban system leads to healthier people and a healthier planet.
Thriving cities
The circular economy creates green economic recovery with new jobs which are supported by skill development and elevating those who have traditionally been excluded. This contributes to a thriving society and the fair distribution of wealth.
Resilient cities
A circular economy keeps products and materials local, strengthening local supply chains. It also fosters transportation systems, water systems, and buildings that are more resilient to climate change.
